After a gap of a number of years, while we were pre-occupied with mapping other parts of the world, ITMB has completed a brand new map of Canada’s famous Northwest Territories. Originally, the NWT covered all of northwestern North America west of the Louisiana Purchase and the Loyalist colonies, and north of the Spanish provinces (essentially north of current day Sactamento). Political changes have reduced its size over the past century and a half to the region of Canada north of the 60th parallel and east of the Yukon. Following the division of the NWT in to Nunavut (future map, coming soon), and nick-named BOB (back of beyond) the NWT remains a wild and fierce environment occupying a huge expanse of lakes and tundra in Canada’s north. This detailed  map covers the entire territory and includes a bit of the eastern Yukon and the westernmost part of Nunavut, Great Bear and Great Slave lakes, the high Arctic islands, and an inset map of Yellowknife, the capital; printed double-sided on paper; AVAILABLE.
